The Sunalta Medical Team
Dr. Serge Soolsma
BSc; MSc; MD; FCFP; SFHM
Dr. Soolsma is a former officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Air Force Branch, where he served from 1988 to 1994. He holds both Undergraduate and Master of Science degrees from the University of British Columbia and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree there in 2002.
With more than 20 years of experience in acute care and primary care medicine, Dr. Soolsma has developed extensive expertise in Family Medicine and Hospital Medicine.
He is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, holds Fellowship designation with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, is a Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine, and serves as a Clinical Professor with the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine.
Dr. Soolsma is also certified in aesthetic Botox treatments and is trained in the use of Cynosure's ViaSure, TempSure, and Icon laser technologies.
Brianna Rizzuti
BA (Italian), BA (Spanish), BN, RN, MN
Brianna graduated from the University of Calgary in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Italian and Spanish Studies. She later pursued nursing through the university's accelerated Bachelor of Nursing program, graduating in 2017.
Committed to continued professional development, Brianna completed a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health in 2022, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Innovations in Teaching and Learning in 2023, both through the University of Calgary's Graduate Studies Laddered Certificate program. She went on to earn her Master of Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2024.
With more than 10 years of experience in the medical field, Brianna brings a strong foundation of clinical knowledge, patient-centered care, and a passion for lifelong learning.
Isabella Woodridge
Office Manager
Isabella is the Office and Business Manager at Sunalta Medical Clinic. She completed her Medical Office Assistant and Medical Transcription training at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1998.
With more than 20 years of experience in medical office management, Isabella brings extensive expertise in clinic operations, administration, and team coordination. She is known for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to ensuring the clinic runs efficiently and smoothly.
Christel Bowns
Dermatology Technician
Christel is a dermatology technician with a background in medical aesthetics and three years of experience in the field. She graduated from NIWE Academy, completing her Professional Esthetics Diploma in April 2024 and her Medical Esthetics Diploma in 2024.
She brings a strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for skin health and the beauty industry. Christel is dedicated to helping patients feel confident in their skin through a thoughtful, individualized approach to care. She believes in balancing aesthetic goals with evidence-based skin health practices, ensuring each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their needs and long-term goals.
